All of us at IPC were deeply saddened by the events of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. We were especially saddened to learn of the loss of our Director of Medical Affairs, Yeneneh Betru. Dr. Betru was aboard American Airlines Flight 77 bound from Washington Dulles Airport to Los Angeles which crashed into the Pentagon. This tragic event was both a professional and personal loss to IPC. Dr. Betru was IPC's Medical Affairs Director since June of 2000. He received his Medical Degree from the University of Michigan Medical School. He was a Board Certified Internist. Dr. Betru was a pioneer in the hospitalist movement and he personally trained hundreds of hospitalists.
